ChessMood Open with $20,000 prize fund!
Dear chess friends!
I’m super excited to announce that on October 4-12 in Armenia there is going to be ChessMood Open tournament with around $20.000 prize fund.

By the way, right after it, we’re going to have “Yerevan Open” tournament (October 13-22) with a similar prize fund. So you can combine them and play two tournaments.
As there are no border problems at the moment, you can easily travel to Armenia.
Looking forward to seeing you soon and drinking something cold together :)

Rating plateaus

Interesting article I read

https://coloradomasterchess.com/informant-ratings-and-expectations/

Summary:

1850 plateau is 50% to 2200, 2100 is 75% to 2200.

Rating jumps happen in n big steps, but adjust up and down a hundred points or so depending on various factors.

Inactivity doesn't lose that many points, maybe 100 (can't remember if it was this article)

---

This would suggest that although it might be several things you need to learn to get off the plateau, that there is a paradigm shift that occurs hence not falling back, it's not just learning the something a bit better.

Any thoughts from the stronger players and what it is that gets one off those plateaus?
