So you’ve learned the WhiteMood repertoire. You know some variations. Now it’s time to deepen your understanding of these openings!

Inside this course, you’ll find the commented model games on WhiteMood openings. Some are from our streams, some are played by our students.

As you go through them, GM Gabuzyan will help you understand the key plans and ideas.

Pay attention to them and to the moments when the opponent makes an unexpected move, and how the game continues from there. Also, keep an eye on the middlegame plans and the pawn structures you get.

Below are the positions from the course:

The main goal is to let the ideas you see here get planted in your subconscious. That will help you remember the WhiteMood openings better and boost your confidence in playing these lines.

Let’s begin!

What you'll learn

  • The plans and strategies are used in WhiteMood openings like Scotch,
    Anti-Sicilian and others.
  • How to play aggressively in a practical game after 1.e4?
  • How to punish the opening mistakes?
  • The type of middlegame positions to expect from WhiteMood
  • repertoire, even when the opponent deviates from theory.
  • How a Grandmaster plays the WhiteMood opening?
  • How to play against sidelines and dubious gambits?
  • The pawn structures you’ll get from these openings and so much more!

Thank you!

Really enjoyed reinforcing the lines with these games. One of the challenges is spotting for myself in time when to diverge from the normal plan (e5 rather than f5 in some of the games), but I am enjoying playing these openings and generally getting good positions from them.

Like all chessmood courses, I would have give a higher rating, if greater than 5 was even possible. The biggest takeaway from the model games section is that we have a plan, and our opponents are likely to play lines very similar to the ones which have been shown here. Watching them over and over again, will definitely make it so much easier to see these patterns and ideas in our games. Just a suggestion please. It will be helpful if we can get some description of the idea or variation after the tagline Stream 1 or Model Game 1. For e.g. Stream 1, Bc5 variation and so on. I actually like to go back to these games after my online sessions to check and compare, and these tags will be helpful to locate the exact game which has the variation I am looking for.
